This Ultimate Godfather started life with a Titainium frame that was mirror polished and given a sky blue wash. The frame then went to BRUCE SHAW for engraving.......and WHAT ENGRAVING IT IS! Bruce is one of the finest engravers around and I have it from good scources that his work has become so highly covetted that he has recently increased his prices by almost two fold. A man can only do so much and when your artistry is so highly covetted there are only two things to do, drown in work and stress out over uncompleted orders OR raise your price. This particular knife was completed before Bruce made his decission so if you want one. Here's your opportunity.
While Bruce was doing the engraving Robert Eggerling was performing his wizardry with metal as he created the Roots pattern damascus from which the finished blade would be sculpted. Robert Eggerling creates so of the most dramatic and high contrast damascus available. I'm sure it won't be long before his popularity forces him to reassess the market value of his work as well.
As Bruce Shaw and Robert Eggerling made their contributions to the creation of this masterpiece the folks at ProTech were busily searching for high grade mother of pearl for the scales. Mother of pearl is one of the most sought after of scale materials by collectors and if you are a collector of fine knives you probably appreciate the mammoth proportions of these mother of pearl scales compared to the standard. Mother of Pearl in large slabs like this demand a premium because, while there is no real shortage of Mother of pearl, BIG pieces are rare and hard to find, especially in the finer grades.
When these components came together at ProTech Knives they were lovingly and meticulously (and probably VERY carefully) assembled into what you see here.
